SECTION 18: THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM INSTALLATION
YOU'LL NEED THE FOLLOWING SUPPLIES:
❑ Electric Drill
❑ 5/64" & 7/64" Drill Bits
❑ Ernst Airplane Stand
❑ (1) 2mm x 400mm Pushrod Wire w/Z-Bend ❑ (1) Adjustable Servo Connector Assembly
Step 1: Installing the Throttle Pushrod Wire
❑ Carefully drill a 7/64" hole through the firewall for the
throttle pushrod wire to enter the engine compartment.
IMPORTANT
The hole should line up with the throttle arm as closely as
possible, yet should be far enough to the side so the fuel tank
does not interfere with the pushrod when it's installed later.
IMPORTANT
Depending on your particular engine, you may need to bend the pushrod wire to line up better with the throttle arm.
Bending the pushrod wire will prevent any binding in the linkage.
❑ Slide the end of the pushrod wire through the hole in the
firewall and reinstall the throttle arm onto your engine.
☞
Unless you have a long drill bit, you may have to remove the engine to be able to drill the hole in the firewall.
❑ Remove the throttle arm from your engine.
❑ Install the Z-Bend in the throttle pushrod wire into the outermost hole in the throttle arm.
