❑ Cycle the retracts up and down a couple of times to check the alignment. The wheel should be centered within the
wheel cup and no part of the strut should touch the wing.
❑ When satisfied with the alignment, glue the wheel cup into place using Pacer Formula 560 Canopy Glue.
❑ Repeat the previous procedures to install the second wheel cup in the other half of the wing.
There are four precovered retract cover-plates (W70) included with your P-47. These plates are designed to be cut to
shape and glued to the exposed area of each retract mounting rail. They are provided for cosmetic purposes only.

❑ (1) Plywood Spacer (D23) - optional
❑ (4) 4mm x 25mm Socket-Cap Screws
❑ (4) 4mm x 30mm Socket-Cap Screws
SECTION 16: ENGINE INSTALLATION
YOU'LL NEED THE FOLLOWING SUPPLIES:
❑ Ruler
❑ Pencil
❑ Builder's Triangle
❑ Paper Towels - optional
❑ Rubbing Alcohol - optional
❑ NHP Epoxy Mixing Sticks - optional
❑ NHP Epoxy Mixing Cups - optional
❑ (4) 4mm Blind Nuts
❑ (4) 4mm Nylon-Insert Nuts
❑ (12) 4mm Flat Washers
Step 1: Aligning the Engine Mount Beams

The references in the next few procedures are taken from the consideration that you are looking at the front of the
airplane with the airplane right-side up.
❑ Using a ruler and a pencil, draw a vertical centerline on
the firewall.
❑ Using a ruler and a pencil, measure down 3-3/8" from
the top of the fuselage and draw a horizontal line on the
firewall perpendicular to the vertical line.
☞
The 3-3/8" measurement must be taken from the vertical
centerline. To draw an accurate perpendicular horizontal line
it helps to use a builder's triangle.
